Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

When an ad's tag line is ' Don't change me, FIT me' I am all ears! This foundation caught my attention and the price tag of $7.99 made me want to go out right away and buy it and so I did. Hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right?

This is what Maybelline claims :

It's makeup that fits you.
  • No oils, no waxes, no nonsense
  • Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be…fresh, breathing, natural
  • Exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin's natural highs and lows to show through
  • Non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested
 This is my take :

             Pros:
  • It is very creamy and blends perfectly. A little goes a long way.
  • Absolutely no streaking, which is something that I love about this product.
  • The coverage is awesome.
  • It gives a really nice glow.
  • No rashes. And I have a very sensitive skin. So, this is  definitely a plus.
       Cons :
  • The staying power is about three hours which could be a negative thing for people who use foundation every day. But for people like me who use make-up when they want to play 'dress-up' for the evening, then it is perfect.
  •  It could make your skin oily , so you will have to use pressed powder (just a lil bit ) if you have oily skin and you should be ok.
           My verdict :

The coverage and the glow that it gives your skin is so great that these cons wouldn't matter. Trust me , it is that good. And the cost is just $7.99.  I would  buy it again!

The one where Ross gets married!

Ok, we all know this one right. The one where Ross says ' I, Ross take thee RACHEL (instead of Emily):-o' .. So, I was watching one of the numerous re-runs on TV the other day and when I saw this episode I remember thinking 'Shee..what a jackass, (pardon my language :p) taking  another woman's name on his wedding' . And I was shocked by my own reaction. Lemme tell you why.

Rewind few years when I was single and I watched the same episode and thought ' Awwwww....Thats soo cute..He still is in love with Rachel and who can forget their first love'  and I imagined some guy doing that for me on his wedding ( I know! Horrible thoughts right ) .This was my reaction then. So, why this sudden change. I mean I still love Rachel and Ross and I am happy that they decided to be together forever and I swear I even said 'awwww..' when they kissed at the last episode of the finale.

This change could be due to my change in perception or even due to the fact that I am maybe, finally growing up? (eeks!!)and understanding things that really matter like wedding vows, loyalty and seeing both sides fo the coin ? As a married or a 'in a relationship' person , do your perceptions change when you watch movies and TV shows? As in, do you find yourself empathizing with the woman who gets dumped at the altar because the guy realizes that he is still in love with the main lead (actress) of the movie instead of going 'awwww' ..? OK, I admit I am happy that they have found each other but I do take the time to empathize with the 'other' girl , the 'dumpee' which I otherwise wouldn't have. Guess, that is what they call growing up where you see both sides of the coin and try to put yourself in the other person's shoes, so to speak!  I guess! :) What do you guys think?

My Pick-me-ups

Nothing wakes me up like a hot cup of tea! And there are other things that instantly lifts my mood like  90's Bollywood songs (cheesy, I know, but I love 'em) , chatting with my mom and realizing that its friday already!
Here is a list of things that instantly makes me feel good and  that I  love!  Disclaimer : This is the superficial side to me guys. So, it is not going to be about a baby's smile, a hug ,sunshine or a random act of kindness to a stranger. That is for another post!

p.s: I was talking to this friend of my mine and she told me that my blog has become a ' married woman's' blog and she didn't mean that in a good way either :p So, here is something that is not too' married', I hope ;)

SHOES - Need I say more ..I wear one of these babies and I feel like I am on top of the world until my feet start hurting bad, real bad!

My Pink scarf - Bought it from W, India. This scarf brightens my gloomy days. It brings a pop of colour to even a plain tee. And its so, oh so soft!

SHIMMERING POWDER & KABUKI BRUSH - I just buff it over my cheeks and forehead, wherever the sun or light hits my face for that nice, almost red-carpet glow.

The orange one is a shimmer powder puff from Victoria's secret. Need I say more ;) Puff it on your neck and wherever you want a lil shimmer. Perfect for night outs with friends and date nights ;) And, it smells delicious!
Biotique Face Pack - I picked this up from India. It is absolutely wonderful. Your skin feels so soft and refreshed, smooth and clear. I know it says flawless 'whitening' pack and if you know me, I am someone who runs far far away from those whitening creams.ewww.Why would anyone want to change their skin color, right? When I saw this at my friend's place, she was raving about it and I tried it. Thankfully, it does not 'whiten'. It makes your skin look good. It is almost over and it is a good thing I can buy it on Amazon and not wait for someone to bring it from India . God bless Amazon!
Sugar Body Scrub - Add essential oils, citrusy scent, sugar and scrub in one little container and you just can't go wrong. It lifts my mood in an instant. Love it!

Dose of King of queens and fresh flowers - I OD love this sitcom. Period.  BTW, the entire collection was a gift on my birthday from hubs, he knows my obsession too well :p
These are my instant pick-me-ups!  Do you have any favorites?

Mystery solved

Hubs : There is lil rice leftover from dinner , do you want me to keep it in the fridge.
Me : Nah, It is a pain looking for the perfect sized Tupperware to store it in, Give it to me, I will just finish it off

Hubs : That papad is a lil oily
Me : oh, then you take the non-oily side and I will take the other side. ( More to do with laziness than with being the perfect wife :P)

Me : ( Opening the fridge and seeing left-over chocolates)  Nom, nom, nom, nom, slurp. What!! I have to keep the fridge clean, Don't I ?

And, I wonder why I have put on 10 whole pounds 5 Kgs (sounds less scary!) after marriage. So, why do why women put on weight after marriage . I read somewhere that women put on weight after marriage because they feel more loved and more cared for. Now, THIS sounds much better than my explanation and I am going to stick to this !
