I was broke and bored..So I made my own Buffet table!

When we got married, we didn't have a single furniture in our house. All we had of course was my husband's acquired possessions through out his bachelor/student days. So yeah, we had a filing cabinet (don't ask me why!), a mattress with a box that we used as bed for a good one year and random kitchen dishes which would make a woman go hunting for Kohl's or Sur la Table! And we also had a dresser that we bought on a garage sale for 20$. I liked the idea of building our home together, one furniture at a time! Now, after two years, we have everything the makes a house a home. And every furniture tells a story :)

Now that we are in a two-bedroom house, our mattress with a box and the old dresser found its home in the guest bedroom. And I decided that I needed a buffet table in our dining area to hold our china and silverware and also to make the are more cozy. I did not want to spend money on another piece of furniture, so decided to do it the unconventional way of doing it. I took the old dresser and me and hubs got down to revamping it. All we needed was sandpaper , fresh coat of paint  and paint brushes and voila!

All it took was 20$. I picked this colour because I wanted a colour that would pop and make me smile even on cloudy, wintery days (yup, I plan way ahead!)  Yup, the knobs are missing but I didn't want to go beyond the  budget  I had in mind, so planning to get them next month! (Let's see if I can wait for two more weeks :p)
